James E. Nyholm
66, 301 South Tenth Street, Wausau, died Sunday, October 7, 2001 at University of Wisconsin Research Hospital, Madison.
Jim was born December 10, 1934 in Merrill, son of the late Frank and Ruth (Kunze) Nyholm. He graduated from Wausau High School where he played basketball, football and track.
Jim began his career at Marathon Bait Shop. He then became a Water Safety Instructor at the YMCA. Jim moved on to become the Startup Manager for the Marathon County Humane Society. Later on he drove truck for Neunendorf, where he was a member of the Teamsters. For years he was self-employed and ended his career as a driver for Northern Valley Workshop, when he retired in 1999.
Jim was a member and a former officer of the Eagles Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors and going to auctions. He was also a caregiver for special needs people.
Jim was a special friend to many and had a "heart of gold". He will be sadly missed by all who truly knew him.
Survivors include four dadughters, Jayne (Thomas) Zilisch, Ringle, Joni (Rodney) Thorn and Jamie (Mark) Wisnewski, all of Wausau and Shelly Nelson, Waukesha, one brother, Harold (Marlene) Nyholm, Mississippi, five grandchildren, Matthew James, Dustin, Stefany, Bryce, David and a special child, Nathan Schmidt.
Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah, one brother, Frank Jr., and one sister, Ruth Ann.
Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2001 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Waldo S. Johnson will officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
