James N. Mueller
68, Wausau, died Saturday May 3, 2008, at Mount View Care Center, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born January 14, 1940 in Wausau, son of Irene (Jamlick) Mueller and the late Harry Mueller. Jim served his country for four years in the US Army. On September 5, 1964, he married Karen M. Wasmundt in Wausau. She survives.
Jim had a 38 year career with the first Wausau Clinic. During this time, the clinic consisted of 12 doctors. In 1972, this clinic became Wausau Medical Center. In 1987, he was promoted to Lab Supervisor and also helped expand the clinic as new centers were opened and obtained, including the Weston Walk-in, Marathon Clinic, Wittenberg Clinic, Partners in Family Care, now the Marshfield Clinic Stettin Center. After being diagnosed with Alzheimers, Jim retired in November 2000 as the last active employee of the original Wausau Clinic.
During his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family, his three grandchildren and friends. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, long walks and camping at Weaver's Resort on Pelican Lake.
Survivors besides his wife, Karen and mother, Irene, include a daughter, Linda (Joe) Glenetski, a son, Jim (Julie) Mueller, three grandchildren, Logan Glenetski, Wyatt Mueller and Makeila Mueller, one brother, David (Maggie) Mueller and sisters, Karen (Gene) Pagel and Margie (Bucky) Stachoviak as well as many nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at noon Monday May 5, 2008 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
