James Junior Lutze
76, Wausau, drew his last breath while in the company of his loving family in Wausau on Saturday, October 27, 2007.
He was born December 17, 1930 in Racine, son of the late James B. and Iva (Van Marter) Lutze. He was married to Marilyn Lehman from October 3, 1952 until her passing on May 12, 2003. Jim then married Jo Ann Williams on June 26, 2004, and was supported by her in marriage until his final day.
Jim served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War, where he held the rank of Sergeant and was twice injured. After leaving the service, he worked at Merchants Delivery in Racine, and retired from the former Advance Trucking Company in 1987, after 23 years. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include, his loving wife, Jo Ann Lutze, Wausau; five children, Helen Stamper, Racine, David (Debra) Lutze, Wausau, Kenneth Lutze, Wausau, Jane Jones, Tacoma, Wash. and Katherine (James) Markley, Havelock, N.C.; two step-sons, Robert Frey and John (Heidi) Frey; eleven grandchildren, Nathan Stamper, Justin (Heather) Lutze, Rachel Lutze, Jennifer Doyle, Christopher Lutze, Kenny and Brandi Jones, Amber Dixon, Medrick (Jessica) Miilu, Ronald and Heather Miilu; four great grandchildren; two brothers, John (Judy) Lutz, Oregon, Wis. and Bill (Joanne) Lutze, Franksville, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Besides his parents and first wife, Marilyn, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Dykstra, Joyce Adjemian and Margie Lutze.
Jim, affectionately called "Big Dummy", "Baldy" and "Sonny" wished to be cremated and a private memorial service and entombment will be held at a later date at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, Wis.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Korean War Memorial in Plover, Wis. or Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Wausau, Wis.
