James "Jim" D. Hirsch
77, Wausau, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin.
He was born June 28, 1935 in Wausau, son of the late Anton and Helen (Gorski) Hirsch.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. For many years, he was employed as a plumbing installer at Wausau Homes, until his retirement. Jim was a very generous and faithful man, always willing to help others in need. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed woodworking and attending family functions.
Survivors include, two children, Laurie (Robin) Kurth and David Hirsch, both of Wausau; five grandchildren, Christopher (Amy) Kurth, Mason Kurth, Matthew Kurth, Brandy Moore and Tiffany Bell; and five great grandchildren, Shelby, Randall, Kloey, Nevaeh and Amaris.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Peggy Hirsch; and three brothers, Donald, Wallace and Delmore Hirsch.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. David Rybicki will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau, with military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
