James C. Eckert Sr

James C. Eckert Sr. 55, W1484 Willow Avenue, Medford, died Thursday, August 9, 2001 at Medford Hospital. Jim was born February 25, 1946 in Wausau, son of Rudolph and Dorothy (Gresl) Eckert, Medford. He was a dairy farmer and loved spending time with his grandkids. Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing, socializing and auctions. Survivors, besides his parents, Rudy and Dorothy Eckert, Medford, include 3 sons, James Eckert Jr., William (Jennifer) Eckert, and David Eckert, all of Medford, 2 grandchildren, his former wife, Barb Martin, Medford, 3 brothers, Raymond (Gerry) Eckert, Medford, Donald (Maureen) Eckert, Waterford and Anthony (Cheryl) Eckert, Medford, 5 sisters, Delores Baker, Racine, Marianne Eaton-Lewis, Kingman, AZ, Laurie (Todd) Trapp and Geri (Tom) Pulse, all of Eau Claire, and Ann Eckert, Denver. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2001 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Friends may call Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Athens funeral home.
