James A. Ash
69, Schofield, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born on October 14, 1935, son of the late Arthur and Dorthea (Goeden) Ash-Shymanski. She preceded him in death.
Jim managed a Big Boy restaurant and started a Chips restaurant in Wausau. Jim traveled and managed restaurants and businesses in places such as Milwaukee, Colorado, Hawaii and California. Jim returned to Wausau in 1993 where he was employed at Wal-Mart until his retirement. His travels provided him with experiences and stories that family and friends loved to hear. His experiences and stories were enhanced by his upbeat, friendly personality, his sense of humor always present and an easily expressed hardy laugh.
Survivors include siblings Marsha Johnson of Winter Park, Florida, and Sandra Thomas of Cape Coral, Florida, an uncle and aunt, Ted and Natalie Goeden, his special and caring friend, Pam Welch, his longtime friends, Ruth McCutcheon and Jerry Funk, and nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Friends may call from 9:00 am until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jim's name.
The family wishes to thank Jim's caring neighbors for their love and support for many years. The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff at Wausau Hospital Center and Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Schofield.
