Jacquelyn "Jackie" A. Burger

Jacquelyn "Jackie" A. Burger, 68, Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Wausau, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids. She was born January 6, 1946 in Madison, daughter of the late John Jr. and Viola (Endres) Cox. On April 1, 1967, she married Charles "Chuck" Burger in Madison. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2013. For over 20 years, Jackie worked at the Wausau Center Mall in food service, most recently as manager of Orange Julius. Jackie enjoyed life and many would describe her as "Forever Young". She spent many days with family and friends at her cottage in Tomahawk, known as the "Tacky Shack", and was always the life of the party. Jackie was a strong believer that is was always "5:00 Somewhere". She had a great love for all animals and was an avid supporter of the Humane Society. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed listening to music, was a huge fan of "Daffy Duck", and most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her dogs. Survivors include, three children, Leo (Annie) Burger, Fitchburg, Lisa (Matt) Page, Elizabethtown KY and Jennifer (Lon) Groth, Wausau; seven grandchildren, Stephen and Michael Zemke, Jacob and John Page, and Ezra, Eleanor and Ivan Burger; four sisters, Carolyn (Larry) Gehri, Waunakee, Betty (Denny) Haverstick, Stow, Ohio, Diane Ziegler, Fond du Lac and Margie Brockman, Madison; one brother, John Cox III, Madison; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Chuck, she was preceded in death by one sister, Barbie Cox and one brother-in-law, Roger Ziegler. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.
