Jacqueline "Jackie" R. Campanile, 89, New Hampshire, formerly of Athens, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, New Hampshire.
She was born August 4, 1925 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, daughter of the late Arthur and Esther (Vergenz) Hoesly. Jackie grew up in Iowa and later attended school to become a registered nurse.
Jackie moved to New Jersey where she accepted a position as a nurse in the maternity ward at a hospital before moving on to become a school nurse for the New Jersey Public School system until her retirement in 1988. She then moved to Wisconsin to take care of her ailing father. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Athens where she also enjoyed volunteering at the Catholic School. Among her favorite pastimes, she liked watercolor painting, spending time with her family and being a homemaker. Jackie also loved animals, especially her dog and cat.
Survivors include, three sons, Domenic (Sheila) Barbato, California, Marco Barbato, New Hampshire and Ted Barbato, New Jersey; two granddaughters, Danielle and Rachel Barbato, both of New Hampshire; and one sister, Arlene Hackbarth, Texas.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Al Barbato; and one brother, Donald Hoesly.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will officiate. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services all at the funeral home.
