Jacobus "Kobus" Pretorius
40, Lone Rock, died Monday May 3, 2010, in Wood County, Ohio as the result of a traffic accident.
He was born November 7, 1969, in South Africa, son of the late Laal and Louisa Pretorius. Kobus moved to the United States from South Africa in 2000 with special friends to start the Green Glass Company.
On March 3, 2003 Kobus married Jami Majetich in Wausau. In 2005 Kobus, Jami and their family moved to Lone Rock WI where Kobus took a job with Cardinal AG Glass Company. He was a mechanical engineer. He was then promoted to mechanical engineer manager. Kobus was very passionate about his work and proud of what he did and the company he worked for. He also enjoyed golfing, biking, working in the yard, making improvements on their house and spending time with his family. Kobus will always be remembered as a loving person with a big heart and witty sense of humor.
Kobus will be loved, cherished, and sadly missed by his wife Jami, sons Jaco Pretorius and Dieter Pretorius, South Africa and Pascal Pretorius, Lone Rock. Step son Gavin Budimlija and step daughter Aleah Majetich. He is further survived and loved by his siblings Kleine Schamker, Annatjie Naude, Anna, Johan van Zyl, Ria de Klerk, Ansie Vermaak, Danie van Zyl, and Liesel Botha. Beloved son-in-law to Donna Wix. Father in laws Robin Vullings, Brian Majetich, grandmother in law, Jean Majetich, special father figure Flemming Meyer, Brother in law Jason Wix (special friend, Wendy Smith), Joe Majetich, Michael (Nikki) Vullings, and Steven Vullings. Dearest best friends are Bobby and Nancy Buchanan and Sean Penrith. Along with many more dear friends, family, and co-workers.
Kobus was preceded in death by his mother Louisa Pretorius, father Jacobus Pretorius Sr. Stepfather Doep du Plessis.
The family would like to express our heartfelt and special thank you to Cardinal AG Glass Company for all their support they have given us during this sorrowful time. And another special Thank you to all of our family and friends for their support.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m Saturday May 8, 2010, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will officiate.
