Jack And Dolores Stacker

Dr. Jack and Dolores Stacker

Sweethearts for 66 years

Jack and Dolores were welcomed into the open arms of the loving Father earlier this year.

Jack, (90) was born in Green Bay, WI, son to Leonard and Calla Stacker, and brother to Jean. He enjoyed many happy summers on the family farm in the Fox Valley and at the cottage that he and his father built on Loon Lake, in Shawano, WI. It was here he developed a fondness for hunting and fishing that would stay with him for a lifetime.

Jack was a graduate of Green Bay West High School, Ripon College, and Marquette School of Dentistry, (1957).

Jack was very proud of his country. While in school, he served in the Air Force R.O.T.C. and later as a captain in the United States Air Force, in the Azores, (1957-1961). He felt it was an honor to serve his country in this way. His experience in the service fueled his love for flying. In his later years, Jack received his pilot's license while serving in the United States Air Force.

Jack and Dolores met while in school at Marquette University. They were married in 1957 and settled in Wausau, WI. Here they established a thriving dental practice for over 60 years. A full-time family man and dentist, Jack continued to serve his community in the Wausau Rotarians while being a benefactor to many local and national charities. He was deeply loved by his patients, family, friends and community.

Dolores Louise Stacker, (88), was born in Milwaukee, WI and was the only child to Raymond and Josephine Malzahn. Growing up in Milwaukee she developed a deep love of the Arts. She attended St. Mary's Academy, where she graduated with honors. Dolores was awarded a full scholarship to the Milwaukee School of Art, but she too felt a strong call to service and graduated with BS and RN degrees in nursing. After graduation, Jack and Dolores were married.

Dolores worked for a private physician for a short time, but she would truly put her nursing skills to use raising their three children: Gregory, Susan, and Mary.

Truly devoted as a wife and mother, Dolores helped her family appreciate the fine arts, while finding a balance with more practical pursuits.

Dolores had a tremendous faith in God, and an enormous heart. She had advice for those who sought it, and an open ear for all. To her, charity was not confined to home, and was a fervent patron to those in need. Her most favorite charity was St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Jack and Dolores' memories will live on in the hearts of their friends and family. Their loving family includes their children: Susan Ann Stacker, DDS (James Kim), Gregory John Stacker, JD, and Mary Elizabeth Stacker, RDH, and their grandchildren: Jack Alexander Stacker, Lauren Abigail Stacker, and Caroline Kim, BS, RN.

A private graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park followed by a Celebration of Life for all at Greenwood Hills Country Club, Wausau, WI, Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 1-4pm. A memorial service in their honor will be held November 24th at St Anne's Church, Wausau, WI, at 8:30 am.

In place of flowers or donations, the family asks all to continue Dolores and Jack's commitment to service and charity by committing one anonymous act of kindness.
