Isabelle Marvin

Isabelle "Izzy" Marvin 85, 1428 N. 13th Ave., Wausau, died Saturday December 6, 2003 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau. She was born June 18, 1918 in Cold Springs, Minn., daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Olk) Zieglmeier. On July 11, 1942 she married Anthony A. Marvin Sr. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death December 7, 1993. Before her marriage, Isabelle was a substitute teacher at St. Mary School, Wausau. Among her many and varied talents, Izzy upholstered furniture, wallpapered, painted and did craftwork, especially enjoying creating novelty candles. She was well known in her neighborhood for her fantastic outdoor seasonal decorations. She was also an avid pool player and for many years shot league pool on the team at Larry's Bar. Survivors include a daughter, Florence Marvin, Wausau, a son, Anthony Marvin Jr., Wausau, two sisters, Selvina(Henry)Wix and Lorraine Hainy, both of Wausau, two very special people, Mabel Marvin, Wausau and Dorothy Schumacher, Marathon. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Martin, Norbert, Albert and Lawrence Zieglmeier and six sisters, Hildegard Bie, Mabel Zieglmeier, Stella Zieglmeier, Alma Nowak, Evelyn Zieglmeier and Marie Zieglmeier. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday December 9, 2003 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
