Isabel E. Writz

Isabel E. Writz, 99, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Benedictine Living Community, Wausau. She was born September 19, 1916 in Wuertzburg, daughter of the late Peter and Frances (Boser) Ellenbecker. On January 2, 1936 she married Theodore Writz Sr. at St. John Catholic Church, Wuertzburg. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1975. Isabel worked for many years at the Wausau Club and also at the former Arlen's Clothing Store. She enjoyed taking bus trips and traveled all over the United States. She especially enjoyed her trip to Disney Land. Survivors include her daughter, Romelle Westberg, Wausau; son, Gary Writz, Wausau; daughter-in-law, Salli Writz; 5 grandchildren, Ronald Westberg, Richard (Ruth) Westberg, Rodney (Brenda) Westberg, Scott (Colleen) Writz and Tami (Dave) Kreger; 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren; brother, Ray (Caroline) Ellenbecker, Athens; and a sister, Hazel Slauza, California. Besides her parents and husband, Theodore Sr., she was preceded in death by sons Roger and Theodore Jr. "Sonny" Writz, brothers, Henry, Peter, Oliver, Melvin, Francis, Harvey, Donald and Earl, and sisters, Viola, Loretta, Delores and Irene. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Alan T. Burkhardt will preside.
