Irvin Linder
95, formerly of 916 Hwy. B, Marathon, died Monday May 12, 2003 at Marywood Convalescent Center, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born November 14, 1907 in the town of Marathon, son of the late Frederick and Mary (Knauf) Linder. On June 16, 1930 he married Ruth Kutschenreuter at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Wauwatosa. She preceded him in death February 28, 2001.
Irvin farmed in the town of Marathon from 1931 until 1959. Later, he drove logging truck, then was employed with Menzner Lumber Company retiring in 1977. He enjoyed canning, gardening, especially tending his raspberry patch and fishing. Spending time with his family was special to him, especially the time spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Donald (Janice) Linder and Robert (Paulette) Linder, all of Marathon, two daughters, Virginia (Paul) Springer, Marathon and Ruth (Jerome) Warner, Stevens Point, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Frederick, a grandson, Jason Linder, two great-grandchildren, Patrick Springer and Hailey Zuleger, three sisters, Mayme Knoeck, Amanda Seubert and Anna Fox, two brothers, Harry and Alfred Linder.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday May 15, 2003 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 4 p.m. Weds. at the Marathon funeral home.
Pallbearers for the service will be David, Daniel, Gerald, Ernest and Frederick Springer, Allan Warner, Thaddeus & Nathan Linder.
