Irvin Huebsch, 90, Marathon, entered into eternal life on Friday, May 27, 2016, and was greeted by his loving wife, Helen.
Irvin was born July 30, 1925, son of Alfred and Theresa (Mueller) Huebsch. Irvin was raised "down home" in Richland County, Wis. At age 16, his father moved the family to Marathon, Wis. to farm. Irvin married Helen Mohr on March 5, 1946. Together, they raised a family of 12 children.
Irvin had a keen interest and natural talent for anything mechanical. He owned an early model Harley Davidson motorcycle, and was driving truck by age 12. Irvin worked hard to provide for his family, and had a successful career as a truck driver, heavy machine operator, and mechanic. Irvin and his wife, Helen, owned and operated a dairy farm from 1963 until their retirement. Irvin was well-known as an expert farm equipment mechanic, and was always helping neighbors, friends, and family, keeping their tractors and farm equipment running.
Irvin is survived by seven daughters, Patricia (Paul) Rondeau, Mosinee, Joanne (Russell) Berens, Edgar, Rose Ann Huebsch, Marathon, Jean Duberstein, Antigo, Mary Jo (Paul) Thomas, Wausau, Julie (David) Hillman, Athens, and Kathy (Mark) Schreier, Edgar; four sons, David (Kathy) Huebsch, Jupiter, FL, Michael (Joyce) Huebsch, Marathon, Fredrick (Sue) Huebsch, Marathon and Allen (Jane) Huebsch, Edgar; 35 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Irene (Don) Kershisnik, Northridge, Cal. , Sister Mary Ellen, La Crosse, Rose Marie (Richard) Leszczynski, Mosinee and Clara (Arnie) Gorski, Mosinee; one brother, John Huebsch, Mosinee; and is further survived by sisters-in- law and brothers-in- law, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; son Thomas; two sisters, Erma Leist and Rosamond Huebsch; and one brother, Ivan Huebsch.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank his daughter, Joanne, for managing Dad's medical care, and all family members that made Dad's final days comfortable and fun; Interim Health Care, Lara, Shannon, and Ruth, for their outstanding care; Visiting Angels, Connie, Carrie, and Connie B. for brightening Dad's day; Lori Schutte, Aspirus Wausau Hospital, and the many kind nurses and staff that administered exceptional care; and Father Joe, for his kind words and welcomed visits.
