Irvin "Bill" Desotelle, 74, of the Town of Rib Mountain passed away Friday July 20, 2018 at Aspirus Hospice House surrounded by his family.
He was born September 5, 1943, in Las Vegas, NV. After graduating from D.C. Everest High School in 1961, Bill served in the USAF. Upon completion of his tour of duty, Bill was hired by the National Security Agency. He worked there for 30 years as a computer expert/manager. He traveled to England, Germany, Italy, Alaska, Japan, Scotland and northern Canada ensuring the acceptance of computer systems for the military. He retired at the age of 50 and moved back to Wausau.
Bill enjoyed golfing, woodworking; fly fishing, and driving the 1956 Corvette he restored.
Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years Barbara ; Two daughters, Jennifer Doyen of Alpharetta, Georgia; Justine Deville (Todd) of Watertown, SD, step-daughter, Michelle Brewer (Jonathan) of Martinsburg, WV; 6 grandchildren, Haylee, Ben and Reese Deville; Cooper and Jack Doyen; and Layla Brewer. Surviving family also includes: 4 brothers Paul (Terry) Desotelle of Green Bay; Richard (Sandy); Steven (Patti); Jim (Jenny); all of Wausau, and 1 sister, Julie Schmidt (Bruce) of Green Bay as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin J Desotelle and Cecilia (Jaskowski); 2 brothers, Chris and Gary Desotelle ,numerous aunts and uncles and his brother-in-law, Gerald Volker.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Peter Kieffer will preside. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
The family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
