Irene Schuster

Irene (Heil) Schuster 91, Marathon, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Weston. She was born July 25, 1919 at home, in the town of Emmet, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Salzman) Heil. On October 8, 1940 she married Alphonse Schuster at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2005. Along with her husband, Irene farmed in the town of Cassel for 37 years. In 1983 they moved to Montana to raise ginseng and beef cattle until 1990 when they returned to Wisconsin. Irene loved to make dolls, rugs, quilts and afgans. She will be remembered fondly for her home cooked meals and baking cookies for the grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Ernestine (Edward) Grohall, West Allis, and Jean Reisner, Tucson, Ariz; two sons, Allen (Linda) Schuster, Mosinee, and Norbert (Alice) Schuster, Fall Creek, Wisc.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mildred Nizolek, Weston, Laura (Mike) Gau, Wausau, Alvina Wanner, Calif., and Florence Roberts, Idaho; one brother, Matthew (Delores) Heil, Weston. Besides her parents and husband, Alphonse, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and Raymond Heil, a son-in-law, William Reisner, three brothers-in-law, Frank Nizolek, Kenneth Wanner and John Roberts Jr. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4-8p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Monday from 9a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Marathon Funeral Home.
