Irene S. Mueller

Irene S. Mueller 95, Wausau passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Marywood Convalescent Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 23, 1917 in Wausau, daughter of the late Valentine and Frances (Robiak) Jamlick. On June 9, 1937 she married Harry Mueller at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1969. Irene was the head cook at the former St. Mary/Wausau Hospital for over 30 years, retiring at age 70. After retiring Irene volunteered at Wausau Hospital for many years and was a sitter with the elderly until her mid 80's. Irene enjoyed her family and the many family gatherings that they had. Most especially she enjoyed listening to all the stories and sharing along with the laughter. Some of her other favorite pastimes included cooking, bowling, taking long walks, embroidery and playing cards with her friends. Survivors include her children, David (Maggie) Mueller, Karen (Gene) Pagel and Marjorie (Frank) Stachoviak, all of Wausau, one daughter-in-law, Karen Mueller, Wausau, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son James Mueller, one grandson, Keith Stachoviak, one granddaughter, Krista Pelletier, 5 sisters and 2 brothers. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday April 26, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
