Irene M. (Cherek) Knipple

Irene M. Knipple, 91, Schofield, died Saturday, September 28, 2024 in Des Plaines, IL.

She was born October 22, 1932, in Bevent, daughter of the late Michael and Mattie (Gorski) Cherek.  On September 14, 1957, she married Arthur Knipple at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent.

Irene worked at Wausau Insurance for a short time before becoming a full time stay at home mother.  She was a long-time member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild, The Little Flower Council and volunteered at numerous church events.  She was an avid ready and loved watching the Packers.  She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, happiest when she was around her family.

Survivors include her four children, Bruce Knipple, Weston, Judy Knipple, Mt. Prospect, IL, Brian (Sann) Knipple, Mt Prospect, IL and their children, Anika and Alex, Steve (Deanne) Knipple, Lake Oswego, OR and their children, Logan, Lukas, Liam and Madelyn, her sister, Sister Mary Barbara Cherek, Mother of Good Counsel, Felician Sisters Central Convent, Chicago IL.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur M. Knipple, and an infant son, Michael.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, October 10, 2024 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild.  Reverend Joseph Albert Saleth will preside.  Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter.  Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 am until the time of services at the Church.  There will be a rosary at 9:00 am prior to the visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St Therese Church or The Felician Sisters Central Convent in Chicago IL.
