Irene A. Bauer

December 16, 1913 — January 20, 2005

Irene A. Bauer 1010 E. Wausau Avenue, Wausau, died Thursday January 20, 2005 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born December 16, 1913 in Marshfield, daughter of the late Henry and Theresa (Kolbeck) Schmidt. On August 1, 1939 she married Theodore Bauer in the town of Hewitt. He preceded her in death. Prior to her retirement, Irene had been employed at the former American Can Corporation. Among her favorite things to do were gardening, quilting and oil painting. Survivors include three children, Lamar (Nancy) Bauer, Cape Coral, Fla., Kenneth (Carol) Bauer and Ramona (Roger) Buchberger, all of Wausau, daughter-in-law, Maxine Bauer, Wausau, 12 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one sister, Alice (Donald) Stube, Milwaukee. Besides her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by a son, Richard, one brother and two sisters. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Monday January 24, 2005 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
