Ilah J. Henze

Ilah J. Henze, 56, 1101 N. 16th Avenue, Wausau, died Monday, October 6, 2003 at Hospice House, Wausau. She was born August 27, 1947 in Mountain Lake, Minn., daughter of Ilah (Koenig) Wolle, Darfur, Minn., and the late Alvin Flaming. On April 16, 1966 she married Harvey Henze at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, Minn. He survives In 1981 Ilah received a degree in nursing from Northcentral Technical College and since then had been employed with Wausau Hospital in several different departments. The last 11 years she spent as a radiation Oncology Nurse at UW Cancer Center at Wausau Hospital. Ilah enjoyed walking, biking, tennis, golf and taking winter vacations in the Carribbean. She loved her family, friends, her job, but most of all, Ilah loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As an active member of her church, she served on various committees, attended bible study regurlarly, was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of Women in God's Service, known as WINGS. Ilah helped form a breast cancer support group called, After Reach, and was active in the Oncology Nurses Society serving as treasurer for the past four years. She was also active in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Survivors include her husband, Harvey Henze, Wausau, her mother and stepfather, Ilah (Melvin) Wolle, Darfur, Minn., a son, Michael (Jill) Henze, Lakeville, Minn., and their daughter Erin; a daughter, Julieann (John) Storm, Santee, Calif., and their family, Parker, Bryce, Jessica and Joshua; five brothers, Roger Flaming, LaMesa, Calif., James (Carol) Flaming, Mountain Lake, Minn., Donald (Barbara) Wolle, Lake Crystal, Minn., Douglas (Shirley) Wolle, Darfur, Minn., Charles (Charlene) Wolle, Mountain Lake, Minn.; and a sister, Nancy (Dale) Parsons, Janesville, Wis. Besides her father, Alvin, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Flaming. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2003 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schofield. Rev. Walter Davidson and Rev. Joel Heckendorf will officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Minnesota funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2003 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Darfur, Minn. The Rev. Troy Jacobs will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Darfur. Friends may call Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Bjerum Funeral Home, 420 N. 10th Street, Mountain Lake, Minn.
