Ila J. Glaze

Ila J. Glaze, 71, Merrill, passed from this life on Friday November 15, 2013 at Aspirus Hospice House, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 20, 1942, in Medford, daughter of the late Teddy and Mabel (Oldenberg) Ruesch. On October 2, 1970, she married Gerald Glaze in Watertown, South Dakota. He survives. Ila was a 1960 graduate of Medford High School, then attended Business College in Minneapolis. For most of her working career, she had been employed as an Executive Secretary and retired as a legal secretary from the Law Offices of Fredrikson and Byron in Minneapolis. After retirement, the Glaze's moved to Wausau to be near family. Family was the center of her life and she loved the time spent with them, especially her grandchildren. Among her favorite pastimes were spending time at their retreat on Tomahawk Lake and being a tour guide at VanderGeest Dairy. Survivors include her husband, Gerald Glaze, Merrill, son, Chad (Kristin) Glaze, Merrill, two grandchildren, Jase and Katy Glaze, Merrill, her siblings, Rex (Barb) Ruesch, Westboro, Rod (Paula) Ruesch, Abbotsford, Reno (Patti) Ruesch, Medford, Ray Ruesch, Spooner, Fae (Bob) Hopson, North Palm Beach, Florida and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be Noon Saturday December 7, 2013 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Stewart Avenue funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
