Ida B. Weisenberger, 93, Wausau, died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Colonial Manor, Wausau under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born July 17, 1922 in the town of Frankfort, daughter of the late Paul and Ida (Leffel) Syring. On August 30, 1941, she married Leonard Weisenberger at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1995.
Ida enjoyed working alongside her husband, Leonard, helping him with the family home building business by drawing up plans and helping with the bookkeeping. Among her favorite pastimes, she liked crocheting, embroidery, making Christmas ornaments and tree skirts. She also enjoyed traveling in her later years.
Survivors include, four children, Yvonne Toth, Broomfield, Colo., Sharon Borchardt, Wausau, Michael (Becky) Weisenberger, Wausau and Pamela (Bill) Bensman, Racine; one brother, Harry Syring, Wausau; six grandchildren, Michael (Tina) Toth, Jackie (Bill) Wojciechowski, Heidi (Jamie) Mayer, Jamie (Matt) Woller, Travis and Tyler Weisenberger; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan Wojciechowski, Nathan (Ashley) Wojciechowski, Kylie and Carson Mayer and Caitlin, Mckenna and Bennett Woller; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Mason and Aiden Wojciechowski; two step-grandchildren, Dan (Ellen) Bensman and Anne Trane; five step-great-grandchildren, Grace, Bella and Nick Trane and Bea and Josie Bensman; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Leonard, she was preceded in death by nine siblings, Urban Syring, Esther Mesalk, Karl Syring, Ella Rolnicki, Paul Syring, Arthur Syring, Herbert Syring, Betty Mueller and Crystal Newman.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Dan Thelen will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
