Hugo H. Lang
79, town of Cassel, died Monday, December 23, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital Marshfield.
He was born September 22, 1923 in Marathon, son of the late Ignatz and Margaret (Dalsky) Lang. On September 4, 1946, he married Rosemary Hytry in Halder. She survives.
Hugo was a dairy and ginseng farmer in the town of Cassel. He enjoyed antique cars and spending time at his cabin and his ponds. Family and friends will miss Hugo's unique personality and humor.
Survivors besides his wife, Rosemary, includes his children, Kenneth (Kathy) Lang, Edgar, Robert (Colette) Lang, Marathon, Ron (Pam) Lang, Marathon, Judy (William) Knickerbocker, Chetek, Debora (Steven) John, Prior Lake, MN, Sandra (Lloyd) Baumann, Marathon, Cheryl (Mark) Kolbe, Marathon and Laurie (Greg) Alberts, Auburndale; 19 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four sisters, Florence Matushak, Marathon, Marjorie (Arthur) Wilichowski, Rogers, Arkansas, Ruth (Harold) Butalla, Marathon and Hildegard (Herbert) Rader, Marathon; two brothers, Harold (Geraldine) Lang and LeRoy (Jan) Lang both of Marathon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Edwards and four brothers, Reinhold, Rueben, Gilbert and Ralph Lang.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2002 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church.
There will be a parish vigil at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the Marathon funeral home.
