Hubert W. Stauske

Hubert W. Stauske 86, 5560 Town Hall Road, Athens, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Colonial Center, Colby. He was born March 22, 1918 in the town of Johnson, son of the late Herman and Emma (Paersch) Stauske. On May 5, 1945 Hubert married Edna Zarling at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. She survives. Hubert was a lifelong dairy farmer in the town of Johnson. He also worked at Strechert Woodworking in Abbotsford. In his younger years, Hubert played baseball on the Wuertzburg Baseball Team. Survivors beside his wife Edna Stauske, Athens, include his children, George Stauske, Athens and Lois (Kelly) Bunkelman, Athens, three grandchildren, Steven, Suzanne and Sabrina Bunkelman, one brother, Edwin (Magdalena) Stauske, Abbotsford and one sister, Loretta Meiding, Rothschild. Pallbearers for the service will be Walter and Leonard Stauske, Steven Bunkelman, Richard, Allen and Lee Zarling. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. Rev. Donn Radde will officiate. Burial will be in Athens Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
