Hubert J. Dahlke

Hubert J. Dahlke 80, Marathon, died Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born February 7, 1924 in the town of Rib Falls son of the late Walter and Selma (Zunker) Dahlke. On August 5, 1961 he married Dolores Rosenbauer at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marathon. She preceded him in death April 9, 1991. Hubert and Dolores were lifetime dairy farmers in the town of Rib Falls. Hubert was the fourth generation family member of the 140 year old Dahlke farm. His love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his entire family was followed by his inspirational love for the farm and all its surroundings. Because he possessed a true love for the land, his years of hard work were a pleasure for his soul. Favorite pastimes for Hubert included hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing cards and enjoying all types of flowers. Hubert was a life long member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church and also a 30 year member of the Rib Falls Hillside Cemetery Association. Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Eleanor Kage, Wausau, Douglas Dahlke, Wausau, June (Elroy) Roeder, Rothschild, Harold (Doris) Dahlke, Merrill, Lorraine (Fred) Plautz, Wausau, Sharon (Merlin) Goetsch, Marathon, many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Mabel Streblow, Rhinelander. Besides his parents and wife, Hubert was preceded in death by one sister Stella Schuster and one brother Wilbert Dahlke. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in Rib Falls Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Marathon funeral home.
