Hilton H. Steidinger

Hilton H. Steidinger 82, 212 N. 136th Ave., Marathon, died Thursday October 7, 2004 at Marywood Convalescent Center, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born August 18, 1922 in the town of Stettin, son of the late Carl and Albertine (Roeder) Steidinger. On September 10, 1922 he was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in the town of Stettin. He married Elaine M. Schmieden on November 12, 1949 at St. John Lutheran Church in the town of Maine. She survives. Prior to his retirement, he was a dairy farmer. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing, especially ice fishing. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Steidinger, Marathon, a sister, Verna Hanke, town of Rib Falls, a brother, Gene (Betty) Steidinger, town of Stettin and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Reinhold and Vilas Steidinger, five sisters, Esther Fellbaum, Elsie Semerau, Erna Thurs, Sadie Strei and Lucille Steidinger. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday October 11, 2004 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in Stettin Christian Cemetery, town of Stettin. Friends may call on Monday from Noon until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, is in charge of arrangments.
