Hildegard D. Lang
90, Schofield died Tuesday, November 27, 2012 under the care of Interim Hospice and Palliative Care at Lili Assisted Living Facility, Schofield.
She was born July 27, 1922 in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late George and Margaret (Michlig) Seliger. On June 2, 1942 she married George P. Lang at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2002.
Hildegard was a homemaker and perfected her skills in sewing, knitting, crocheting and quilting with six daughters to care for. Her home was open to anyone for any type of alterations. She was also an avid quilter and produced beautiful quilts over the years.
One of Hildegard's hobbies included tending to her flowers, especially her African violets which produced beautiful blossoming plants. She also enjoyed spending time with her family which included annual trips to Door County with her sister and six daughters 16 years in a row.
Hildegard had a great love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and celebrating annual holiday traditions. Her beautiful smile expressed her love of her family. She shared much and found pleasure in listening to tales of family togetherness and fun.
Survivors include six daughters, Georgine (Tom) Reynolds, Louisiana, Sandra (Tito) Babl, Schofield, Virginia (Vern Connor) Fox, Madison, Joyce (James) Balliet, Milwaukee, Lynn (Dan) Donham, Texas and Charlotte (Al) Berens, Tomahawk, four siblings, Ruth (Sylvester) Volhard, Marathon, Cyril (Virginia) Seliger, Milwaukee, Phillip (Jean) Seliger, Tennessee and Hugo Seliger, Tomahawk. She is further survived by her grandchildren Julie (Patrick) Guris, Chris (Bobby) Hale, Jeff (MaLinda) Babl, Jody (Sheryl) Babl, Tony (Holly Carter) Babl, Dan (Karen) Babl, Jennifer (Scott Sullivan) Fox, Amy Fox, Erin (Nick) Ratelis, Brendan (Anna Capacci) Balliet, Angie (Troy) Miller and Matt Donham and 19 great grandchildren, Matthew Adams, Hunter, Brandon, Jessica and Peyton Hale, Noah and MaKayla Babl, Joey Johnson, Azlan, Lucas and Grace Babl, Maeve Sullivan, George and Maggie Ratelis, Elizabeth, Chloe and Luke Miller and Jaxen and Emily Donham.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five brothers Leonard, Melvin, George, Arnold and Marvin Seliger.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2012 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Alan T. Burkhardt will preside. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Edgar. Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.

Hildegard was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife and friend to many. Her smile, wit and wisdom will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. A special thanks to all who cared for her over the years. You know who you are.
