Herbert A. Schubring

Herbert A. Schubring 93, Wausau, died Monday, April 12, 2004 at his home. He was born July 13, 1910 in town of Wausau, son of the late Erich and Anna (Hafeman) Schubring. On October 14, 1933, he married Florence Raduechel. She died January 20, 1965. On August 2, 1966, he married Percilla Zunker at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death on February 3, 2004. Herb was the president and general manager of the Wausau Garage until the time of his retirement. He was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church, Wausau. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time fishing in Canada and going up to their cottage. Besides playing cards, Herb enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Larry (Marilyn) Schubring, Wausau; two step sons, Charles (Nancy) Zunker, Crystal Lake, Ill and Richard (Constance) Zunker, Woodinville, Wash; two grandsons, Scott (Michelle) Schubring and John (Kimberly) Schubring; one granddaughter, Julie Schubring three step grandsons, Robert Zunker, Paul (Trina) Zunker and Hans (Georgia Lee) Zunker; one step granddaughter, Sandra (Brian) Brown, Milwaukee; seven great grandchildren, Zachary and Nicholas Brown, Benjamin, Megan and Hannah Zunker, Benjamin and Samuel Schubring; one brother, Orval Schubring, Wausau. Besides his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Verna (Myron) Schuetz. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2004 at Christ Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Patrick McKenzie will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau and again from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church.
