Herbert E. Naffier

Herbert Naffier 94, of Wausau, died Sunday, August 17, 2003 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born April 3, 1909 in Minneapolis, Minn., son of the Emil and Anna (Fox) Naffier. In the spring of 1936, in Milwaukee, he married Theresa Gooden. She preceded him in death. Herb worked as a machinist at Kerney & Trecker Corporation, West Allis. Survivors include one daughter, Sharon (Irvin) Rybacki, Schofield; three sons, Rev. Vernon (Joyce) Naffier, Ankeny, Iowa, Robert (Barbara) Naffier, Milwaukee and Terry (Denise) Naffier, Wind Lake, Wisc; ten grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many foster children. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau. Rev. Richard Block will officiate. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery, Milwaukee. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at Stewart Ave. funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 501 Schmidt Ave., Rothschild, Wis. 54474.
