Herbert E. Dahl

Herbert E. Dahl, 72, Athens, died Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. Herbert was born May 14, 1930 in Athens, son of the late Edwin and Lillian (Kautzer) Dahl. Herbert worked in the Central Wisconsin area cutting trees. He also worked various jobs in the area as a mechanic. He left Athens in 1963 to live with his brother Harold in Louisiana. He returned to Athens in 1976 and worked at the Athens Co-Operative. Hunting and playing cards with his "Bachelor Buddies" and friends were among his favorite things to do. Most of all he loved "Max" his pet cat. He is survived by two sisters, Laura (Victor) Woellner and Betty (Virgil) Auner both of Athens. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Harold and Richard Sr. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2002 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in the Athens Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens is in charge of arrangements.
