Henry E. Wix
84, Wausau, died Tuesday February 21, 2006 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born July 11, 1921 in Stratford, son of the late Arthur and Marie (Kieffer) Wix. On June 7, 1947, he married Selvina Zieglmeier at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives.
Prior to his retirement, Henry was employed at the former Drott Manufacturing, Schofield. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Force in the South Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion, Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau.
Survivors include his wife, Selvina Wix, Wausau, his children, Gerald (Vicki) Wix, Wausau, Barbara (Lee) Petersohn, Weston, Dianne (Jay) Costa, Wausau, Roger (Patricia) Wix, Wausau, Donna (Robin Vullings) Wix, Milwaukee, Donald (Kathy) Wix, Kronenwetter, Thomas (Linda) Wix, Wausau, 18grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two brothers, Jerome (Genevieve) Wix, Rudolph, Walter Wix, Wausau, one sister, Marjorie (Ed) Ahles, Tomahawk.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Oelrich and two brothers, Richard and Arthur Wix.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Friday February 24, 2006 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Stephen Gross will preside. Entombment will be in Holy Angels Mausoleum, St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Michael Parish or the American Legion.
