Henry Rausch

Henry George Rausch passed away on Friday April 13, 2007 at the age of 80. Henry was born in Athens, WI on November 14, 1926 where he resided his whole life until recently where he lived at Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford, WI. He is survived by two sisters, Agnes Writz, Round Lake, IL, Rosemarie (John) Nowicki, Athens, and one sister-in-law and caregiver for 49 years, Lucille Rausch, Athens. He is also survived by 22 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Mary (Hornick) Rausch, and two brothers Edward and Bernard Rausch. Henry was a simple man who we all could learn from. He had an uncommon ability for remembering life's special moments like birthdays and anniversaries. He was an avid weather watcher who studied maps. He loved to travel, share a cigar with his nephews, and enjoy a good meal. Henry's unrecognized intelligence will be greatly missed. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 19, 2007 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens.
