Henry W. Plooy
70, Medford, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born October 12, 1938 in Bellflower, California, son of Lena Plooy and the late Henry Plooy. On October 17, 1959 he married JoAnne Peralta in Modesto, Calif. Henry owned and operated dairy farms in california and Wisconsin. He enjoyed retirement, fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his mother, Lena Plooy, Ripon, Calif.; his wife, JoAnne Plooy, Medford; six children, Sherri (Bill) Boer, Modesto, Calif., Henry Plooy Jr., Medford, Michael (Cheri) Plooy, Medford, Heidi (Scott) Brandner, Medford, Robert (Aeron) Plooy, Stratford and Carrie (Rob) Seidel, Stetsonville; 14 grandchildren, two sisters, Jeni Hoekstra, Grand Rapids, Mich. and Helen Vanderwall, Ripon, Calif.; one brother, Tom Plooy, Anchorage, Alas. and many other relatives and friends.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by one brother, John.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Very Rev. Charles Hiebl, Rev. Gerard Willger and Rev. Joseph Diermeier will concelebrate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 312 Caroline St., Athens, and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Rosary School, Medford or St. Anthony School, Athens.
