Helen A. Weiler

Helen A. Weiler 86, 297 Washington Street, Athens, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at Colonial Center, Colby. She was born October 14, 1918 in Stetsonville, Wis., daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Klimek) Lueck. On February 4, 1941, she married Nick Weiler at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. He survives. For many years, Helen was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, traveling with her husband and long rides through the countryside. Survivors include, her husband, Nick Weiler, Athens; four children, Milton (Dianne) Weiler, Edgar, David (Gale) Weiler, Athens, Mary (Gary) Pesarchick, Des Moines, Iowa and Randall (Jolie) Weiler, Weston; nine grandchildren, Kent (Jane) Weiler, Thorp, Yvonne Weiler, Edgar, Lynette Weiler, Wausau, Bryan Weiler, Rib Mountain, Julie (Darin) Weiks, Athens, Danielle (Craig) Diedrich, Athens, Kreg (Julie) Weigand, Blaine, Minn., Jacqueline (Paul) Hutchison, Hyattsville, Md. and Nick Weiler, Weston; sixteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Evelyne Martie, Phoenix, Arz., Rosella (Earl) Sarnstrom, Payson, Ariz., Florence (Archie) Dake, Stetsonville and Jane (Harry) Carstensen, Merrill; one brother, Richard (Madonna) Lueck, Sioux City, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James and Roger Weiler; one sister, Dorothy Weiler; and three brothers, Martin, James and Melvin "Boydie" Lueck. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2005 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again on Monday, from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at church. There will be a parish vigil service 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Athens funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anthony Catholic Church or for Mass in her memory.
