Helen Veronica Gajewski
87, 522 McIndoe Street, Wausau, died Friday September 9, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born October 27, 1917 in Peplin, daughter of the late John and Leokadia (Sliwoski) Murawski. She married Sylvester Gajewski. He survives.
Helen was a homemaker and loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Always baking up a storm, Helen also enjoyed sewing and canning. Among her favorite things to do were reading, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles as well as playing cards with family and friends. The Gajewski's were longtime members of St. Michael Catholic Church and Helen was a member of the Rosary Confraternity.
Survivors include her husband, Sylvester, her children, Richard (Bette) Gajewski, Ron (Mary Lou) Gajewski, Nancy (Gary) France, Susan (Calvin) Dexter, Robert (Ronda) Gajewski, grandchildren, Mark (Lynn) Gajewski, Cindy Charais, Michael (Tammy) Gajewski, John (Tracy) Gajewski, Teri (Mark) Sukanen, Nicole (Tom) Wojcinski, Patrick (Mindy) France, Kathryn France, Leokadia Dexter, Hannah Gajewski, Larry, Luke(Heather) and Lauren Ruffi and Deonte Stoiber, great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Charais, Ryan Gajewski, Bradley and Matthew Gajewski, Brooke and Miranda Gajewski, Sarah and Grace Sukanen, Madelyn Wojcinski and Ryan Ruffi. She is further survived by brothers, Zigmund (Alice) Hanz, Lawrence Jr. (Doris) Hanz, a sister, Dorothy Green, sisters-in-law, Ann Graveen and Wanda Gajewski.
She was preceded in death by sons, Michael and Kenneth, brothers, Stanley and Michael Murawski, sister, Josephine Suchomski, her father, John Murawski, her mother, Leokadia Murawski-Hanz and her step-father, Lawrence Hanz Sr..
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Weds. Sept. 14, 2005 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch and Rev. Joseph Rafacz will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Weds. From 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish and Rosary Confraternity Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Tues. at the Sixth Street funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Michael Parish.
