Helen L. Cortright

Helen L. Cortright 72, 3001 E. Sell Street., Wausau, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born May 23, 1932 in Grandfather Falls, daughter of the late Phillip and Mildred (St. Clair) Bigsby. Helen married Eugene Cortright on October 4, 1952 at First Presbyterian Church in Wausau. He survives. Helen worked numerous secretary jobs with Stop & Go in California and later with the D.C. Everest School District. She was also a sales representative for General Telephone Co. Among her many interests Helen enjoyed camping, fishing and snowmobiling but always found time to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren. Helen eagerly awaited the return of her husband Eugene, who worked at the Milwaukee/St. Paul Pacific Railroad, so the two could enjoy some quality time together. Survivors beside her husband, Eugene, Wausau include her children, Gary (Patti) Cortright and Keith (Tracy) Cortright, all of Wausau, daughter-in-law, Laurie Cortright, Eagle River, six grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew, Kevin, Jason, Kyle and Alicia Cortright, five step-grandchildren, Kristine, Brett, Holly, Brian and Tim, seven great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessica, Hunter, Dakota, Donnica, Donnivin and Joseph, one sister, Ruth Mitchell, Milwaukee. Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by one son Mark Cortright, one granddaughter, Amy Quillen and one sister Joan Hamann. Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday April 2, 2005 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. John Meachen will officiate.
