Helen M. Bartelme
84, Wausau, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born May 18, 1923 in Wausau, daughter of the late Jack and Lila (Ohlsen) Radandt. On September 1, 1947, she married Robert J. Bartelme at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2000.
Helen was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Council at The Church of St. Anne, an Aspirus Volunteer, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Burns Post #388 and the K.C. Ladies. Among her many interests, she enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino and was an avid bowler.
Survivors include, four children, Brigid (John) Dean, Marshfield, Rev. James Bartelme, Ladysmith, Thomas Bartelme, Schofield and Patrick Bartelme, Wausau; three grandchildren, Andrew (Sara) Dean, Rebecca Dean and Michael Bartelme; five great grandchildren, Allison, Cameron, Olivia, Ashley and Holly; one sister, Kathleen Krueger, Wausau; and one brother, Jack Radandt, Wausau. She is further survived by Ileana Gonzalez, Des Moines, Iowa, a former foreign exchange student that lived with the family.
Besides her parents and husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Rajek.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Monday, November 26, 2007 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. James Bartelme and Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
