Harvey A. Soczka

Harvey A. Soczka, 84, Edgar, died Wednesday May 2, 2018 at Pinecrest Nursing Home, Merrill, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Harvey was born January 22, 1934 in the Town of Rietbrock to the late John and Anna (Socha) Soczka. On June 3, 1953, he married Rosemary Pecher at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wuertzburg. She preceded him in death on April 1, 2016. Harvey operated a family farm and he also ran his own trucking business. Among his favorite pastimes he enjoyed hunting and attending local church picnics. Survivors include his two sons, Kenneth (Linda Marie Hill) Soczka, Merrill and Arlin (Joann) Soczka, Edgar; two daughters, Karen Seigel, Germantown and Charlene (Robert) Wichmann, Arbor Vitae; nine grandchildren, Greg, Wendy, Jenny, Matthew, Shandi, Michelle, Virginia, Pamela and Valerie; and seven great-grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 12, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is in charge of arrangements.
