Harvey M. Ellenbecker

Harvey M. Ellenbecker 82, 1712 Wuertzburg Road, Athens, died Friday, December 21, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. Harvey was born June 13, 1919 in the town of Johnson, son of the late Peter and Frances (Boser) Ellenbecker. He married Mary Grgurich October 19, 1946 at St. John Catholic Church, Wuertzburg. She survives. Harvey was employed as a machinist for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during World War II, serving as a combat engineer. Survivors besides his wife, Mary Ellenbecker, Athens, include his children, Larry (Barbara) Ellenbecker, Las Vegas, Nevada, Wayne Ellenbecker, Brookfield, Illinois and Stephanie (Frank) Ventrella, Naperville, Illinois, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Earl Ellenbecker, Stratford, Raphael (Caroline) Ellenbecker, Athens and Donald Ellenbecker, Spokane, Washington, three sisters, Irene Writz, Athens, Isabel Writz, Wausau and Hazel (Bill) Slauzis, California. Besides his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2001 at St. John Catholic Church, Wuertzburg. Rev. Leonard C. Stashek will preside. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be an American Legion memorial service Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. followed by a parish vigil service at the Athens funeral home.
