Harvey N. Drengler
86, formerly of Marathon, died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Walnut Grove, Merrill.
He was born November 8, 1922 in Marathon, son of the late John and Catherine (Ritter) Drengler. On November 12, 1942 he married Marcella Henrichs in Rib Falls. She preceded him in death on September 22, 2007.
Harvey served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II and was a Member of the American Legion Alois Dreikosen Post No. 469, Marathon. Some of his hobbies included woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his children, Alan (Mary) Drengler, Tomahawk, Jessie (Dennis) Meister, Marshfield, Kay (Chandas) Thompson, Shoicton and Daniel (Diana) Drengler, Colgate; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Lauryn (Dorothy) Drengler, San Antonio, Texas and one sister, Dorothy Levandoski, Kimberly.
Besides his parents and wife, Marcella he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Heller, a son, Tony Drengler, one brother, John and five sisters, Lillian, Beatrice, Cora, Irene and Francis.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2009 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon. The Rev. Jon W. Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, town of Stettin. Friends may call Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Northland Lutheran High School, St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon, or Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
