Harvey F. Dettmering
90, 129 First Street, Brokaw, died Friday August 17, 2001 at his home.
He was born July 23, 1911 in the Town of Pine River, son of the late Theodore and Mary (Danker) Dettmering. On August 7, 1937 he married Nina Kufahl in the Town of Pine River. They celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Harvey retired as a millwright from Wausau Papers, Brokaw, after 42 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Nina, three sons, Wayne (Diane) Dettmering, Brokaw, Donald (Nancy) Dettmering, Merrill, Martin (Janet) Dettmering, Mosinee, seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two step-brothers, Donald Schroeder, Madison, Gordon (Joan) Schroeder, Merrill, two step-sisters, Adeline Yellstrom and June Beltz, all of Merrill. He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and one step-sister.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday August 21, 2001 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Joel Schmalz will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
