Harvey P. Bolssen, 72, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at North Central Health Care facility, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born October 25, 1941 in Kaukauna, son of the late Arthur and Alice (Schultz) Bolssen. On February 1, 1991, Harvery married his one and only, the love of is life, Marianne Kolbeck in Dale, Wisconsin. She was his loving wife for over 23 years. She survives.
At the age of 16, Harvey began farming and eventually owned and operated two farms in Dale. He also owned and operated Bolssen Auto Salvage for over 50 years. He enjoyed spending time gardening with his wife and spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed listening to old country music and watching original Western movies. He had a soft spot for animals of all kinds. He had a sweet tooth for his step daughters home made candies and baked goods. Harvey was a generous and loving man, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Marianne; step-children James (Michele) Kolbeck, Redlands, Cal., Dean (Carrie) Kolbeck, Wausau, and Kristine (Dean) Lepak, Wausau; grandchildren Dylan, Shilo, Shelby, and Kennedy Kolbeck, Nicholas and Daniell Lepak; siblings Mary (John) Rickmann, Betty (Ron) Dexter, James (Linda) Bolssen and (Dawn) Bolssen; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Gorden.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church - ELCA, 5304 N. 44th Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Dan Sire will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m., until the time of service. Sit down meal will be immediately following the services. All at St. John's Church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, St. Joseph's Health Care Center in New London, and North Central Health Care in Wausau for the wonderful care and support for Harvey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Services in Harvey's memory.
