Harry G. Hack
72, 817 Walnut Street, Marathon, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
He was born July 27, 1931 in Marathon, son of the late Joseph and Martha (Heil) Hack. On September 8, 1956 Harry married Donna Salzwedel at Holy Name Catholic Church in Wausau. She survives.
Harry worked at Pauly Cheese for over twenty years. Following that he worked at County Market in the bakery department. Special to Harry was playing the concertina and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Harry served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He was also a member of the American Legion, Alois Dreikosen Post #469 , Marathon.
Survivors besides his wife Donna, Marathon include his children Eric (Char) Hack, Rib Falls, Mary Ann (Darrel) Frieders, Wausau, Rosemarie (Paul) Sessions, Marathon, Keith (Barbara) Hack, Marathon, Kim (John) Rhyner, Wausau, Linda (Jeff) Schara, Marathon, ten grandchildren, three brothers, Alfred (Mae) Hack, Marathon, Rufus (Marchita) Hack, California, Joseph (Joan) Hack, Rib Mountain and one sister, Irene Karlen, Wausau.
Besides his parents Harry was preceded in death by two brothers Orville and Clarence.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church or Marathon City First Responders.
