Harold C. Williams

Harold C. Williams 82, Wausau, died Weds. October 19, 2011 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. He was born June 5, 1929, in Portage County, son of the late James and Gertrude (Kujawski) Williams. On February 3, 1951, he married Josephine Opichka at Holy Name Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army from 1951 until 1953. Harold was the owner and operator of "Williams Wrecking" and had been employed for 31 A½ years at Marathon Electric Corporation. He enjoyed his part-time job at Red's Market and he had also been an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Josephine, eight children, JoAnn (Robert) VanSleet, Tomahawk, Gary (Rebecca) Williams, Mosinee, Sandra (Geoff) Groshek, Mosinee, Keith (Christine) Williams, Merrill, Donald (Beth) Williams, Wausau, Thomas Williams, Schofield, Ann (Steve) Osborne, Wausau, Patrick (Ann Marie) Williams, Wausau, 26 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, four siblings, Grace (Gerald) Beilke, Northfield, Henry (Margie) Williams, Gleason, Betty (Karl) Utech, Merrill, Mary (Larry) Heinz, Kenosha, three sisters-in-law, Kathy Williams, Westfield, Darlene Williams, Boscobel, Virginia Williams, Oakfield, one brother-in-law, Joseph Banz, Mosinee and his mother-in-law, Josephine Opichka.. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Stadler and Helen Banz, five brothers, Ralph, Richard, William, Fred and Art Williams, and his father-in-law, Orban Opichka. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 22, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
