Harold "Butch" Wenzel

Harold "Butch" Wenzel, 87, Wausau died Friday, March 25, 2016 at North Central Health Care Center-Gardenside Crossing, Wausau. He was born August 8, 1928 in Marshfield, son of the late Albert and Myrtle (Zielsdorf) Wenzel. On July 29, 1950 he married Bernice "Bunny" Melchior at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death on July 28, 2008. Butch was an accountant at Drott/J.I. Case and Tropical Gardens. He enjoyed basketball, golfing, swimming, jogging and loved doing pencil drawings. Butch proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953. Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne (Todd) Stanecki, Rothschild and Judy (Mark) Jacobs, Mosinee, five grandchildren, Greg (Tracy) Geib, and their daughter Lily; Brian (Amy) Geib, and their children, Kaitlyn, Carson and Brayden; Kevin (Jessica) Geib and their daughter, Amelia; Eric (Sara) Jacobs and their children, Harper, Laken, and Marlow; Andy (Fiance, Hannah School) Jacobs, three siblings, Sister -in - law Jackie Wenzel, Illinois, Karleen Mahoney, Illinois and Barb Sletten, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Weston. The Rev. Raymond Connor will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
