Harold R. Norton, 87, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
He was born September 9, 1930 in Rib Mountain, son of the late Leonard and Mary (Goebel) Norton. On March 29, 1952 he married Rita Meilahn in Wausau. She survives.
Harold served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked in quality control at Weyerhauser for many years. In his younger years he took great pride in his yard and having what the neighbors referred to as the yard of the century. He also enjoyed NASCAR and putting together puzzles.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; children, Sheree (Mark) Schaefer and Jaci Seliger; son-in-law, Jim Drews; grandchildren, Sarah (Craig) Hutchinson, Stephen (Becky) Paul, Jake (April) Sonnentag, Gretchen (Dave) Krueger and Jenna (Josh) Winter; five great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Drews, two sons-in-law, Steve Paul and Bob Seliger and his brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Private inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
