Harold "Hammer" Finger

Harold "Hammer" R. Finger, 85, Wausau, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 under the care of Ascera Care Hospice at Wausau Manor. He was born October 30, 1928 in Wausau, son of the late Reinhold and Selma (Hoppe) Finger. On January 16, 1971 he married Clara Held in Wausau. She survives. Harold was part owner of North Side Bottling Works and after the sale of that business, he went on to work for over 26 years at Brokaw Paper Mill. He was an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother at their cabin in Phillips, Wisc. Survivors include his wife, Clara, Wausau; step-daughter, Pam (Mark Grulkowski) Erdmann, Wausau; step-son, Bob (Vicki) Erdmann, Weston; step-granddaughter, Rachel Gable, Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Kenneth Finger, Wausau; sister, Louise Gates, St. Paul, Minn.; niece, Pam Gates, St. Paul, Minn.; great-nephew, Dane Faber, Medford; many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris and Corrine and a niece, Christine. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
