Gretchen R. Jacobson, 90, Weston, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Marywood Convalescent Center. She was born April 6, 1919 in Wausau, daughter of the late William and Lydia (Maibach) Wendorf. On January 17, 1941 she married Irving R. Jacobson. He preceded her in death in 1988. Gretchen retired from H. Phillips Company in Wausau and she and her husband Irving were the former owners/operators of Steel Flite Scafolding Company, Wausau. Survivors include her children, Carol (Roland) Rucinski, Henderson, NV, William (Mary) Jacobson, Green Bay, Christine (John) Waldinger, Green Bay, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one sister, Suzanne "Sally" Ortleib, Tomahawk and one nephew, John Dumdei, Wausau and one niece, Karen Larson, Wausau. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Natalie Wendorf and Mary Dumdei. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Entombment in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon until the time of the services on Wednesday all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
