Grace M. Wadzinski

Grace M. Wadzinski, 89, Wausau, died Monday, August 15, 2016 under the care of her family and Ministry Home Care Hospice. She was born February 10, 1927 to the late Matthew and Pauline (Gajewski) Rafacz. On October 22, 1949 she married Harland Wadzinski at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wausau. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1990. Growing up, Grace helped work on the family farm. After high school, she had been employed with the former Employers Insurance for 42 years prior to her retirement. Grace loved to be active and enjoyed playing on a golf league, cross country skiing and participating in the KC bowling league. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club at work as well as the Rosary Society at church. Always generous and caring, Grace willingly gave of her time doing volunteer work at the hospital, St. Michael parish office and helping with funerals at church. She also loved to read, play solitaire and looked forward to her semi-annual bus trips with her friends. Survivors include three sons, Harland Wadzinski Jr., Wausau, Paul (Laurie) Wadzinski, Wausau and Mark Wadzinski, Bellevue, Wash., 2 grandsons Adam (Renee') Wadzinski, Milwaukee and Jason (Courtney) Wadzinski, Whitehall, and two sisters Angeline Milanowski, Pike Lake and Mary Gusman, Hatley. Besides her parents and her husband, Grace was preceded in death by her sister Leona Erdman, her brother Rev. Joseph Rafacz, and two infant brothers Benedict and Adam. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday August 19, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in the Parish cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
