Grace T. Stohr

Grace T. Stohr, 96, formerly of Wausau, went to be with her Lord on Weds. August 1, 2012 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston. She was born August 30, 1915, in Wausau, daughter of the late Anton and Pearl (Frasch) Buzinski. On October 20, 1937, she married William J. Stohr at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death April 26, 2002. Grace had been employed at the former Heinemann Brothers Department Store for several years. She and her husband had been Charter Members of The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau and had been active through the years various church ministries and volunteer events. Grace was a member of St. Catherine Council and their Honor Guard for over 60 years. Through the years, her faith was an important aspect in her life. Grace was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed spending several winters with her husband in Hawaii, Florida and Arizona as well as many sightseeing trips in the U.S. and Canada. Special to her was the time she spent with her daughter and son-in-law in Wausau and at their home in Minocqua. Among her favorite things to do were tending her flower garden as well as playing cards with family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Marlene Fredrich, Weston, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Stohr, her son-in-law, William Fredrich and an infant brother, Adam Buzinski. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 4, 2012 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. David Rybicki will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the entire staff at Renaissance Weston for the outstanding care and concern given to Grace during the time she spent with them.
